South Pacific Fish Book Review
I am planning a trip to the Cook Islands and I wanted to figure out what fish are present there. When looking for a book, I did not want one that has a bunch of Caribbean or other completely irrelevant fish. I was talking to a friend who goes to Fiji to scuba with some regularity, and he suggested this book.
When I first opened it I could see it was jam packed with great photos of tropical fish. They are well grouped by family, shape, and color. The only thing I would like would be some maps for ranges to add to the descriptions of ranges. I can understand that the book would be twice as large with maps, but it would be nice. If you want any natural history or feeding habits of these fish you had better find another book too.
All in all it is a great fish identification book for the South Pacific.
