Kitchen Aide Blender impeller.
Getting the old one off which shattered due to age was not easy... It was't described the remove and replace instructions. You need a special thin wrench to get the broken impeller off the Kitchen Aide motor. I thin think this would be the same for any blender brand. I would assume this part is a universal vendor item that various blender manufacturers outsource. I did not have a wrench to unscrew the old part that broke so I squeezed it with a channel lock plier which expanded the old part threads and it spin off easily. Be careful not to damage the threads on motor armature or damage the blender. Putting the new one on was a breeze since you don't need to tighten the impeller because it self tightens and seated when the blender is turned on. Personally, if you don't have the ability to follow my instructions buy the wrench to be safe. You will still have to hold the motor armature from turning/spinning or you will not get it off. If when all is said and you are confused or unsure throw blender in garbage and buy new one. If you take this appliance in to have repaired it will cost more than blender is worth. I was gonna throw mine in the dumpster before I found this part online. I am really pissed that Kitchen Aide uses this cheap part in their blenders. Mine didn't have 20 minutes use but was ten years old. The part literally expoded into shrapnel when it failed. What happens is whatever rubber it's made of gets hard as it ages. :)
