It's party time!
There are many compilations of Chubby Checker, but this one is probably the first pressing in many years that features only the original recordings Mr Checker made for Cameo label in early 60's. The sound quality is great - all tracks are in fresh stereo sound and liner notes expand our knowledge about that carefree time.
In general this cd is worth having for those who want to reminisce and re-live the era of party songs - even though they sound shallow and repetitive 45 years after the scene was in its peak. All the big hits of Chubby Checker - the king of Twist are here and those who look for easygoing party atmosphere won't be disappointed.

Smokie at their best!!!
1 of 1 found this helpful Smokie were one of the most popular British acts in the Israeli charts between 1975 and 1978. They had a string of hits at the time, all featuring the distinctive and unmistakable voice of lead singer Chris Norman.
I was looking for a compilation of their original recordings from those years and this cd's includes all the hits and even some lesser known tracks. More than this, the closing track: "Stumblin' In" - a duet of Chris with Suzi Quatro was a huge hit in the U.S.A and in Israel as well.
For everyone who wants to taste some mid-70's soft rock - this cd can be among the best choices.

Feeling the noize
There have been some Slade compilations over the years, but all of them lacked a hit or two. This one, from Universal, brings for the first time all the hits, plus their less successful singles together and that what makes it the most comprehensive compilation of Slade singles so far. Unfortunately, the manufacturer didn't tried so hard to remaster the tracks, but the sound doen't lack either in comparison to previous hits collections.
When listening to the cd's be prepared to a lot of noise - that's what Slade is (almost) all about!!!
