Looking for a good Star Trek game? Keep looking...
Let me clear this up, "Star Trek: Encounters" is NOT a PS2 port of the superior "Star Trek: Legacy" for the 360. It is a very badly done cash in by a studio that brought us such great games as "Oblivion", how did they manage to much this up so badly? I'll start with the missions, from the get-go they have you jumping through hoops, then they have you do it again, with a 0% margin, because you're being timed. Other missions have you chasing warp signatures, but don't miss a single one, or you gotta do it all over again! The Combat is terribly underused, most of the game has you doing very badly thought out tasks. I found TWO missions out of the entire game to be entirely playable. The game has two saving graces, William Shatner provides narration, not as Captain Kirk mind you, just as the narrator. The other saving grace is the skirmish mode, I find it unacceptable that a cheap little instant action mode, that was probably just tossed in as an after thought is superior to the main campaign. Avoid this title, you have been warned!

Rented it before, wanted to buy it for myself.
This game really takes advantage of the "Wiimote", everything in this game is done with one hand. That makes it the PERFECT game to play while having some lunch! The Graphics aren't as great as say, Super Mario Galaxy. They're good for what they are, and stand up on their own legs. If you remember the fun of those old "Dragon Warrior" games from the NES days, this is a very successful attempt to recapture that feeling, and at the same time reinvent it! The sound team did a fantastic job too, they threw in quite a few nods to the originals, including that spell casting sound. The voice acting is also pretty good, which is very rare in itself! Long story short, don't listen to the "Professional" review sites, this is a solid title! I definitely recommend it!
