Blazing Saddles Rides Again in Blu Ray Glory!
Afraid of getting the same old movie in another format?
Forget it. This is a great remaster of a classic.
5.1 sound and great color and detail.
Viewed on PS3 at 1080P was tremendous.
Lots of extras on the disk, but I wouldnt want to ruin the surprises.
Every group gets once again attacked by Mel Brooks in a good humor sort
of way. I thouroughly enjoyed this old classic which by the way I saw at a drive in many years ago.
Take a trip down memory lane and buy it!

SONY DVP-NS77H 2007 DVD PLAYER Up converting.
8 of 10 found this helpful Ok it works fairly well and plays upconverted DVDS in 1080P. Its a real good match for your new Sony big screen TV as well, and YES it has HDMI output. As far as I could tell the 1080P output ONLY PRODUCES UPCONVERSION IF YOU use the HDMI output.
If your like me you will play around with the settings to make sure your upconverting. Thats probably why you bought this player right? You wanted some kind of a 1080P input for the new big screen and your not about to spring for a Blue Ray player yet right? at least until your local Blockbuster rents Blue Ray movies right? Oh and by the way forget about HD-DVD its NOT happening. Buy HD-DVD only if you want to display it next to your Beta MAX machine from the 70s. Yeah I know its a great technology....so was Beta. Its your money however so have a good time.
This is a small player with plenty of features most of which you will never use. If your pumping this units output into a 19 inch tabletop set you wont probably know the difference so save your money and keep the old non progressive 2 year old DVD player. You wont even know the differnce.
If however, youve got a big screen home theater system and sound processor dont hesitate to pick it up for around $100. You will like the picture and sound no problem. It works particularly well with Sony Bravia so go for it.
I gave it a "good' not excellent because the book that comes with it sucks.
You gotta read the whole thing to get the simplest things set up. Oh and by the way SONY PLEASE SHIP THESE DEVICES SET UP TO PLAY DOLBY DIGITAL OUT OF THE BOX.
DONT MAKE US DIG INTO THE SETUP TO GET DOLBY GOING.
NEWSFLASH SONY most people have sound processors! Dont ship defaulted players that run only two channel audio. And as an aside, WHO did you hire to do the onscreen graphics? My last Sony player had a great background graphic that was admirable to view along with its SONY logo. I hope you guys saved some money on graphic arts because it very UN impressive now.
All in ALL Sony did a good job on this player, but look out for some shortcomings in operator book and onscreen graphics.

SONY PLAYSTATION 3 You will get your moneys worth!
Ok Im an old guy 58 years old and I like this product! I usually review antique radios here on E-BAY so what would I know about modern game/video machines! Well stay tuned folks because grandpas catching up! Heres why you should buy it.
ONE its a great blue ray player. YES you can see the difference and will love the 1080 P picture this baby puts out. You will BUY blue ray disks and enjoy them! I sure have. Heres the deal though. You gotta get rid of the old CRT TV and buy a new big screen with a HDMI connector and couple it with a good sound processor capable of 5.1 sound and a good set of speakers. Come on and pony up some money retirees. Your home watching TV more than anybody so enjoy it to the max! Get some help if you need it and be prepared to spend a couple of thousand if you dont have any of the above. Sony makes a great Bravia 55 inch TV. Thats what I have and love the videos from standard DVDs which are upconverted to 1080P as well as the blu ray disks! All you gotta do is put in the disk and it upconverts it for you to a great clear picture 1080P on regular DVDS. Tremendous. DONT mess around be sure to buy the optional blu ray player remote control for ease of use. Your gonna take a while learning how to use the wireless game controllers.
TWO You never played games right? WEll your gonna like the game function. You can master the system and the grand kids will love it. Buy two wireless controllers out the gate along with the blu ray remote. Shop around but the controllers arent cheap. Sony usually includes one game so enjoy that one first. Oh and by the way DONT even consider paying retail for PS3 games. Can you say E-BAY? Get on E-BaY and bid with the youngsters and sell your old games as you dont want them anymore! You will have a good time if you spend a little money and time on this part of the PS3. Oh and did I forget to mention it plays blue ray disks! Its ok to have fun even when your old!
THREE This thing has a internet browser. It will go to YOUTUBE and play old stuff you will like such as Frank Sinatra videos. I found Jackie Gleason and Johnny Carson stuff. Its a lot of fun and its on a 55 inch TV in the living room with great speakers!
FOUR You can set up a media server on another computer with your router and home network. NOW DONT TUNE OUT ON ME KEEP READING ITS NOT THAT HARD TO DO!
First put Windows Media Player 11 on your home PC (free Microsoft download).
Second go under library and enable sharing. Go to each folder in question right click and allow sharing. After media player finds all your grandkids pictures and MP3 old time radio its all set up. TURN OFF ZONE ALARM (for a little while anyway) and let the PS3 search for media files. I had 3000 pictures in slideshow!
MY only complaint about the system is the browser. Its kind of clunky and the lack of a keyboard is a little difficult. Doesnt play all mode video either like flash 9 which is a newer form of video. Please fix that one SONY please.
It has a built in Wi-Fi connection if your lazy and have a router ready. Yes you need a broadband internet connection and you will have to pay for it.
Nothings totally free folks.
PS3 runs $499 everywhere including Walmart warranty about $28. Pay it and sleep better! I do.
Its really worth the money, but your gonna have to get technical.
So gear up retirees and get with the program.
The rewards are many and worth the money.
By the way it will DOWNLOAD GAMES from SONY with its built in Wi-FI!
