Bachmann Quality Products
This locomotive is great value for money. The detail is excellent, especially like the motion which includes operating valve gear. And the slow running is smooth and realistic. I bought this loco to convert into a representation of the only standard gauge Shays to ever be imported to Australia. They operated on the 50km private railway that ran from the Govt line at Newnes Junction to the Commonwealth Oil Corporations shale oil refinery at Newnes. The line had a ruling grade of 1 in 25 and in sections followed a tortuous path clinging to cliffs and switching back on itself in Penrose Gorge. Two tunnels featured in the gorge, with extensive earthworks and spectacular sandstone scenery all around. Four Shays were imported by CoC, 3of 70 tonners and 1of 90 tonner. I will be purchasing more of these Bachmann models to replace some old MDC kits that just don't compare. (Sorry MDC)

Proto 2000 BL-2 runs like new again!
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought a real nice model from US, but it was cheap, and when it arrived it ran terribly with bad clunk in mechanism, even locking up from time to time. I did some research and found it had split final drive gears. When these spare gears arrived I replaced them all and it runs like new again. In fact it is now one of the quietest, smoothest slow runners on my layout! Great product, would strongly recommend checking final drive gears if you have similar issues.

Awesome songwriter and performer!
I've been listening to this bloke for years on Macca's Australia All Over. This double album is just incredible, can't stop playing it!
