East of Eden
1 of 1 found this helpful Of course, East of Eden by John Steinbeck is a classic and I've read it years ago, but it goes beyond "classsic". The book is so descriptive that you can feel it as though you were actually there. When you finish the book, you know the people. They have faces and voices that you could pick out of a crowd if they were real. Sometimes I have to stop and remember that it's fiction, not reality. I've heard about authors that could "draw you into the characters", but John Steinbeck truly can and does.
