This is not what I was expecting. It isn't like the other books I have bought before.

Disaster viewed after a century
This is a fascinating book. It takes a look at the worst disaster to hit this country as told by the people who lived (and died) through it. In September 1900 in Galveston, Texas the worst hurricane in the history of the US slammed into the city and killed 10,000 residents. This takes us from about a week before to what happened to the survivors. If you are a history buff or a weather buff (or both) this is a fascinating look at weather forecasting (or the lack thereof). Highly recommended.
