Final Fantasy III for the Super NES
Its a game that was, for the people who played it, an epic of sorts in its day. Most all of the story lines, composed music, game play elements and graphics all were just about as engrossing as you could ever get on this now dated 16-bit console. This is the game where people really seemed to start paying attention to the music Nobuo Uematsu was writing. Every time you played the game different outcomes in how things progressed would and could likely happen because that was how the designers and programmers envisioned it from the beginning. A true classic work of art for the video game RGP genre.

Once Upon A Time In The West - Soundtrack CD
1 of 1 found this helpful I love the soundtrack to this old Western movie though I can't bring myself to play it all the time. It has great old school production values but there are just certain elements in the entire album that make it sound too bare or depressing at times to hear every day or every week. This album has some very bewitchingly dark instrumental tunes to accent some of the deeply somber killing and revenge that goes on in the film. In fact some of that darkness is unnerving like in the track Death Rattle which is mostly done with some pretty slow but building dissonant harmonica phrases that keep getting more slurred until we reach that final execution climax. There are also some not so dark tracks too like A Dimly Lit Room and Jill's America that remind us of the more living compassionate side of the world in this story. There is not a single synthesizer on this pretty old soundtrack.

Daft Punk - Discovery
A great, mostly easy listening techno-pop CD based around musical hooks that use elements of rock music mixed in it to give it a fresh twist.
