Genuinely Creepy
1 of 1 found this helpful This films takes the imagery of spirals and runs with them in every possible way. Not terribly concerned with a complicated plot, we're taken through a town's descent into madness in genuinely creepy ways. Based on a comic series, the film keeps the manga feel. One of the better Japanese horror films.

Good visuals, thin characters
0 of 1 found this helpful I got this to inspire a friend who is also trying to make a movie with his Mac. I thought it was visually stunning and I liked the design, but I felt that the characters were underdevloped. I never knew why they were so important to each other or worth not giving up on. While I was interested in the adventures in space and the protagonist's feelings, I felt impatient whenever we went back to Earth. The bonus movie I thought worked better, and would recommend watching the full version.

Classic Fritz Lang
Fritz Lang (Metropolis) uses an adventure about an evil hypnotist to critique the Weimar Republic. Since it is silent, I watched it with Kalat's commentary, which really enhanced the experience. If you like silent films, this is an excellent one, and the commentary is top notch. I would recommend it, but be warned that it is four hours long (divided into two parts).
