    UMD version of this classic
The best thing about this movie is the format it is available on, UMD. What a joy to watch this classic on the go, anywhere, anytime on my PSP. Although there are versions available on DVD with many more extras (Like the original un-dubbed version in Australian language), this UMD version suffices to be able to watch it in the car, Hotel room, or at the park.

    Great "flavor" of The Eighties
This CD not only contains the mega-hit "Blinded By Science", but is also a good "sample" of eighties techno in it's true Pop form. Is good to hear this LP on CD after playing it hundreds of times on vinyl in the eighties, the synthesizer sounds reveal the era of this CD, but does not detract from the fine artistry of Thomas Dolby, especially on "Europa And The Pirate Twins" and "One Of Our Submarines". For further proof of the Thomas Dolby artistic sound, listen to his synthesizer mastery on Foreigner's "4" album, THEY called HIM to play on it!

    Great for the Haley Collector
When I say "great for the Haley Collector", I also mean "mediocre for someone buying an occasional Haley CD". This compilation threw me off at first with it's title, I thought it should have been "THE DADDY OF ROCK-N-ROLL", and maybe it was a foreign issue with a loss in the translation. Nonetheless, the rarity of the cover artwork photograph and the inclusion of pre-1951 Haley tracks peaked my interest. Most Haley compilations today use the same ol', boring picture for the cover that has been used over and over again, but not this one, and that alone made it stand out. Now, as far as just another Haley CD for someone looking for a "Best Of" collection, this may not be it. But, for a true Haley & His Comets fan, this is a fairly nice addition to your collection, as it spans a long history of Cowboy recordings, Philadelphia Essex recordings and finally the great Decca New York recordings they did, not to mention the last two tracks that are live from Allan Freed's TV Show, the audience goes wild on these! The big downfall that excludes this set from being excellent, it the quality of some of the Decca songs, a few are the wrong speed (too fast), and several are out of phase and have a "swooshing noise" on the cymbals and high ends. Very bad. But for the real Haley connoisseur, these faults are made up for with the quality of the early recordings like "Green Tree Boogie", which is better quality than the same selection on a previous Roller Coaster Records set. This 2-CD compilation can be compared (not in size) to the recent Proper Records box set, where as a lot of the songs were released at the wrong speed also (too fast). Another advantage of this is that it is more affordable, plus I had been watching this one on e-bay for a few months from two different sellers, and one finally came down on their reserve, so here I am with it!
