The best film about Wonder Woman I've ever seen!
This was a great production and really gave you the feeling of the place where Wonder Woman came from and how and why she viewed mortals living on earth the way she did. She had been raised in a society of strong women and therefore was shocked when she came up against the chauvinistic society of the early twentieth century. I thought Gal Godot in the title role was fantastic, and Cris Pine and the other guys on the side of good were also great. The scenes showing the western front during World War I gave the audience a taste of what it was like then, although I know from watching documentary films that it was much worse than what they showed in this film. Danny Huston as General Ludendorff made a great villain and the only weakness in the film is that I know the real Ludendorff didn't die during the war but survived to become an early supporter of Adolf Hitler in the 1920's. All in all a very entertaining film to watch and certainly worth seeing if you get the chance.

Entertaining series with depth and heart about a controversial era in the world's history.
4 of 4 found this helpful This series started off in a similar fashion to other documentaries I had seen about Vietnam, but quickly became more than I had expected and showed an understanding for all sides in the conflict that has seldom been presented. I am really glad I ordered the series from ebay, as it was a excellent value for the money and I have always enjoyed Ken Burns's films throughout the years. I am old enough to remember Vietnam and watched the news broadcasts on tv in the evenings during dinner with my family. I know many of the people watching it now will only learn about it through shows like this and I urge them to watch this series as it gives good insight into this conflict with an evenness that is often lacking in films portraying this war.

Dark story with multiple plot lines has wonderful characters and a fairly accurate period setting.
I was unsure before I saw this series if it would turn out to be good, bad or a stinker. I was wrong on all counts as I loved it and think it was well done. I really liked the character of Lt. Hodiak and the policewoman he mentors during the series! If you are looking for complete historical accuracy concerning the Tate murders, (these are shown in the later part of the series), this is not for you. Instead read the book Helter Skelter or see the excellent movie on the subject for complete accuracy. However, if you like over the top characters (Manson and his "family" are good examples of this) dream -like sequences during the various parties the people have, as well as the endings of the episodes where surprising things usually happen, you have a good value in the show. I was very disappointed when NBC chose not to continue the series for at least another 2 or 3 seasons, especially when they keep other things on that aren't nearly as good as this one was. It was definitely worth ordering and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in this type of show.
