Excellent series for young elementary
Dolphins at Daybreak belongs to the popular Magic Treehouse series. My 6 year old son brought home a Magic Treehouse book and read it through in 2 days. As a reading teacher, I was impressed with the vocabulary, science and history facts included in the book. I found the series to be good "starter" chapter books. Mary Pope Osborne takes readers on adventures to other places and times through a magic treehouse. On the journey, kids learn about various science and history topics, many of which they will be expected to know later on in school. Your child will be given an edge over other students because they have this knowledge. I purchased a set of about 30 brand new books on ebay for about $40.00. I couldn't get a better deal anywhere else. My son loves these books and has read 6 of them in a month.
