Kneel and pay homage at the Metal Church!
Having heard a few negative and a lot of positive reviews on this cd, I wanted to take my time listening to it before posting my own opinion on it. Well, after a few weeks of multiple daily playing I have came to one conclusion; This is one nice-slab-of-metal. Old-school metal at its best, with a bit of a modern edge touch as well. About the only bad thing I have to say about it is that I feel that the two opening tracks were perhaps the worst songs on the cd. Not that they were bad mind you, I just felt that they were not on par with the rest of the album. Which really takes off from that point on, beginning with the title track; Generation Nothing. From there the metal flows in a river of molten decay, pouring out one black hit after another like a rouges gallery of batman villains.Though the highlight of this cd is the macabre, dark masterpiece; Voices In The Wall. This sonic attack is led by the decadent singing style of frontman Ronnie Munroe, which ranges from a throaty-growl to a banshee's wail. The production and sound levels on this album were superior as well, which is something I love and feel is an often overlooked aspect. This is absolutely one of my favorite metal cds to come out this year, and I highly recommend it. It just keeps getting better the more I listen to it!
