Solved my random alarms
Little more difficult to install than expected, but got there with just a 10mm wrench.

Works under Ubuntu. Poor image quality.
Linux says "ID 18ec:5555 Arkmicro Technologies Inc. Found UVC 1.00 device USB2.0 PC CAMERA uvcvideo"
Works out of the box with Ubuntu, but the video quality isn't great and has quite a lot of noise. Might be possible to improve with settings. Good enough for my CCTV system, but only just.

Does the job perfectly well, fits my jerry can's mouth
Fit perfectly through the 44mm mouth of my jerry can, for stirring the water to mix in the salt for my reef aqarium.
