In America
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought 'In America' after seeing Paddy Considines breath taking performance in 'Dead Mans Shoes'. I was not dissapointed, Paddy Considine, Djimon Hiansou and Samantha Mortons roles were tackled touchingly and believably, but it was the childrens performances that made the film truly magical and very memorable. The story of a family trying to come to terms with a loss, was executed in a way that didn't feel forced or 'by the book'(in the way that so many Hollywood tearjerkers seem to be), visually stunning, funny and moving, a film that deserves to be seen.

The Kid Stays In The Picture
"The Kid Stays in the Picture" follows the rise and fall of legendary Hollywood producer Robert Evans, who changed the face of American Cinema during the seventies. He was integral in the realisation of such classics as The Godfather, Chinatown and Love Story. The documentary is narrated by the aged Evans, his comments which are both personal, insightful and at times full of genuine regret make for suprisingly moving viewing. The score adds a nostalgic and whimsical air to the film. Listening to Evans recount tales of his time during Hollywoods most exciting Cinematic era is like hearing an ageing emperor recounting his past glories and makes for truly fascinating viewing.
