Tales of the North
Having lived in Alaska for two years, I know how the freezing cold and bitter winds feel. Jack London has the ability to make you feel these things as he unfolds his stories of the early north lands during the gold rush days. He writes of ordinary people going about their daily lives in a harsh unforgiving country where one small mistake can cost a person their life.

Looking forward to seeing for myself.
1 of 1 found this helpful A very good read, it answers a lot of questions a person may have about afterlife. The story is told by the father of a young child who died for a few minutes while in the hospital as told to him by his child. The child puts things in plain simple terms that anyone can understand, and reveals the things and events he witnessed while in Heaven, he also talks about the people he met while there. I am planing to buy several copies to give as gifts, I believe there is a message here a lot of people will enjoy hearing.

The Sackett Brand
I have been a fan of Louis L'amour western novels for some time now, and enjoy reading of the Sackett Family from their beginning in 1500s England to the days of the old west. It's always interesting to read of early America and the hardships our ancestors faced. The Sackett Brand is about Tell Sackett moving west with his wife when they came under attack by a ruthless cattle baron. Tell spends the rest of the book fighting off the 40 or more hired guns sent to kill him. When news of what's happening gets back to some of the other Sackett's they all come running to help, and that's when the fun begins. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys westerns and a fast paced action novel.
