Intercultural competence
I bought the book for a class I am taking in college. I like the book because it is very clear about the concepts it discusses and because the terms it uses are clearly defined. One drawback of the book is that the authors are very repetitive, giving a summary of what they will say in the chapter both before and after the actual discussion. Athough irritating, this habit is not enough to detract from the book's usefulness as a textbook.

Uncommon correspondence
I bought this book for a class on marriage I am taking at school. It is a very good examination of marriage, romance, and how we are influenced in our ideas of love and romance by our culture. I think it is particularly useful because it gives the reader the perspective of a woman from India on American dating. It is also interesting to read because it consists of letters between the two women.

Biblical Hebrew
This is a very good book for beginning Hebrew students. It gives vocabulary and grammatical explanations. You will need a lexicon to use this book, though, because it does not give all the words in the readings of Genesis that it asks you to do, and you must already have a very good grasp of the Hebrew strong verb system to benefit from the book.
