    Thor on Video!
I decided to purchase yhis DVD since I have been a Thor Fan since '77 after buying His album "Keep the Dogs Away". This DVD Includes all the old stuff including Thor on Merv Griffin and even shots of his stage show "BodyRock" which He created before going "Rock Star" all the way. Some of it is a little silly at First, But If You're a Thor Fan, You'll Love the Live footage of Songs from his "Only The Strong" tour on as well as Videos from albums circa 2002 and 2005. I always Loved the songs "Sleeping Giant" and "Rosie" and was thrilled to see the heavily made up Thor in Promo Videos of these Songs from '77/'78 as well as a Live Rendition of the latter. The "Thor-u-mentary" is Funny and eye opening as we are shown his early bodybuilding/Stripping Beginnings. Some would find this Bad or Campy, But I am glad that I purchsed this and it will be a Gem in My Music Video Collection. Tom M. 2008

    Dave goes under the Covers
I would have given this CD a rating of "Excellent" If it wasn't for some self-indulgent mindless inclusions (although They did make me laugh)and the fact that this is pretty much a Cover Tunes album.. Most of the Song Titles are changed (Not sure why), But none the less the songs are there. The first 3 songs, all Savoy Brown covers are Great (Maybe because I'm a big "Savoy" Fan)and Daves voice suits them well. The next Track is the Steve Miller Song "Shuba Da Du Ma Ma" (called Shoo bop here)and again is a great match for Dave's voice. "She's Looking Good" Sounds like a Van Halen throw away track without the "coolness" of a VH song. The Doors song, "Soul Kitchen" takes one back to the Hey "Daze" of the doors at full Power and Hendrix's "If 6 was 9" elevates us to another dimension and mind space. "Tomorrow never knows" is another song that is better If the listener is at a "Higher" level of consciousness due to the help of outside "Buds". Medicine man is just silly, but may make You laugh along with Dave at the end of the snippet. "Let it all Hang out" could have been a Great Song on any of DLR's earlier albums and may be the closest of all the Tunes to capture Dave's "Swagger". Thug Pop is another catchy Track and enjoyable to listen to. without getting into the rest of the album and bringing out the hard criticism, I will stop here and just say that with all of it's foibles, This is one of my more likeable Post-Syscaper albums by Mr. Roth.

    Gotta have it!!!
I've listened to this Album hundreds of times when I owned the L.P. and thought it might grow old. Of course, as much as I liked it before, I like the CD version much more. Not only does it sound great and the Bonus tracks are cool, But it brought back all the same feelings that I got when listening to the L.P. eons ago. With Songs Like "Violation", "Sing it,Shout it", "S.T.E.A.D.Y.", "Rock Six Times" and "Cherry Baby", How could You go wrong? Great Great CD! Tom Mair
