A taste of home
1 of 1 found this helpful Very good quality membrillo, not as sweet as some cloying brands. The flavour and grainy texture of the quince is lovely. I will buy this brand again.

Great buy
I was so happy with this product. It's a convenient way to thicken and add depth to many dishes with sauces; coq au vin, boef à la bourguignonne, etc. I add it to stuffing too. It's great value, keeps well and I'd heartily recommend it. I will always make sure I have some on hand in an airtight tin and I may even get round to making black pudding with it.

Too much lost in translation
This is a beautifully presented cookbook with recipes and wisdom from the great Chef. It isn't a translation into English, however, but to american English; the ingredients and cuts of meat are given the names used in america, the recipes are full of suggestions for equivalents and substitutions available in american shops and the only measurements offered are in cups, pounds and ounces, making it impossible to use without the long tedious practice of searching for the metric equivalents on line. I went on to buy it in French and found that very much easier.
