A stupendous product to stimulate the art of reading again!!
1 of 1 found this helpful I had been deliberating for some time to get a Kindle and needed persuasion from my wife as I had veered between buying one and leaving it. After much soul searching I bought the 3G WiFi item because it had the added facility of working outside and on a global basis unlike the WiFi only one.The transformation in me is amazing, I used to love reading books and then stopped and became somewhat disillusioned with the whole concept of reading, but now.........this machine has given me a new lease of life for reading and I'm inspired to read all the books I currently have on the kindle. The experience is so much more pleasurable and much lighter to carry around than an alternative hard/paperback equivalent. The device can fit into most pockets and with the case will give added protection. Best scenario to buy cases is on ebay as the alternatives on the amazon site are very very expensive for what is equally the same case in reality. So inspire yourself, invest in a kindle and get reading again, it is a joy and a real pleasure to be undergoing this renaissance for the written word, but if it wasn't for my wife's intervention I would still be dithering over whether to buy it or not. Act now and you will not be disappointed.

A gentle comedy of manners and family behaviours
1 of 1 found this helpful This was a box set I had been after for some time. This particular edition has every episode of the series including the Xmas special. John Thaw's comic talents are very much in evidence in this hilarious tale of father and son reunited albeit in a rather tantative way. The actors/actresses gelled well together and there is even an episode with John Thaw's real life wife included. It was a phenomenal comedy of its time and now restored in all its glory onto DVD. For those of you who like gentle comedy without the need for bad and crude language then you should take the time to view this one. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Even better on DVD
I had been looking to upgrade my video collection into DVD format and this seemed the logical thing to do. This seems that much better on DVD and the sound was crystal clear and as an added bonus there is a nice long interview with the globe trotter himself unlike on the old video format. It is a superb documentary like all of Michael's jaunts so if you have yet to witness his travels I would suggest you start with this one, the best one of the series I think, but then I am biased, just buy it and be addicted to his jolly narrative and informative travel around the world we live in.
