    The Most Future Film
If you are reading reviews about Barbarella, then you know what is wrong with it. I want to take a different direction. As an older viewer, the '60's thought and social commentary do bring a smile to my face. The opening song is reminiscent of the Love Boat theme though it precedes it by several years. The music is good, even great, until it tries to sound "futuristic"--so Dino De Laurentiis. The visual effects are on a par with the films of that time. Brown shag carpeting, not high/low shag; but ultra-high shag carpeting! I depart (again?) with other reviewers in that Jane Fonda is the only reason this film is noteworthy. Keep in mind that Racquel Welch turned down this role. A number of actresses could have played the part and it would still have a place in science fiction. There several scenes, such as the biting dolls, the pecking birds, the people comsuming labyrinth, and a few more; that must be in the comic strip but just don't film well. I am not against "worshipping the feminine form" and indeed a lot of that goes on here. Perhaps one should consider who directed the film and if he was related to any of the stars. Put this on the big screen during a party and turn the volume down.

    After the Fox
This film tells a story about a successful gold robbery. The gold is somehow smuggled out of Cairo on a freighter bound for Italy. Peter Sellers is in charge of making sure the gold is successfully smuggled into Italy, and does this by posing as a film director and making a film about the gold robbery. Victor Mature is in his only comedy and shows he has quite a sense of humor--he's hilarious! Britt Ekland does fabulous job as the starstruck little sister. Though written by Neil Simon, the movie is more Peter than Neil. If you want laughs, this has them.

    A Household Favorite
This is the best way to see the Terminator. Blu-Ray and DVD together. The menu on the DVD is quite good. The Blu-Ray menu has shrill metallic sound every time you click on it. Yuk! But that's not the film is it. I believe this is the best option for viewing The Terminator though there has been criticism about the video transfer. The film is 26 years old and I don't think it will be transferred again. So, this is it. It's a lot of fun to watch and that's what it's all about -- right?
