Useless for black tea

Mostly what I expected
The DVD was as I expected and I knew what to expect because the publisher, Euroarts, made all of it bar two of the bonus extras available on Youtube.
The direction by Gottfried von der Goltz results in an interpretation that is not as florid as those of some others, but it is not a dry, note by note rendition either. The compositions are stripped down to their bare essentials, which makes Bach's genius stand out more clearly than in versions where directors add their own glitz and razzle-dazzle. The use of period instruments makes it easier to imagine that this recording may be close to what Bach intended these pieces to sound like and how he may have wanted us to hear them.
People who appreciate love baroque music in general and Bach in particular will most likely value this offering of the Brandenburg concertos as much as those of others. I certainly enjoy listening to all of them and choose according to my mood at the time.
The only downside is that whereas the DVD functions faultlessly on my MS Windows (XP and Win 10) computers and the players connected to my stereo and TV, it does not work with Linux Mint 18. In fact, it freezes the computer altogether. I would have deducted half a star for that if I could. Since that does not seem doable, five stars it is, for the number of Linux users is negligible.
On a side note (to copyright warriors), this disc is not the first time I bought one after listening or viewing it more or less in full on Youtube.

Useless
Tried it on three different computers, all of them way beyond the specified minimum requirements. The device dropped frames all over the place. Audio and video was way out of synch. Total waste of money. Unfortunately I did not try my purchase out until it was too late to claim a refund.
