The Best PC purchase I have made in a Decade
1 of 1 found this helpful I gotta say, this was probably the best purchase that I have made in years. In my book, there is no substitute for a good ThinkPad. I have used these for over a decade at work, and when I saw this one (a T410) on-sale for this price, I decided to give it a try.
When the unit arrived, i told my wife that she should not be mad at me; not because I spent the money, but because the laptop will work so much better than the previous one that we were using (an old T40) that she would be pi$$ed that I did not do this years ago.
Both of us were thrilled with the laptop. No second thoughts whatsoever. This thing performs as well as my work laptop (a one year old T420 with a solid state drive) though there is a lot of work crap that probably slows it down.
There used to be an old adage; no one ever go fired for buying IBM. Yes, I know that IBM had Lenovo making these for them for years. I would think that no one would get fired for going with a Lenovo laptop.
Do yourself a favor, and buy one of these. This laptop is most likely good for at least a few years. This would have been a $1000 + laptop when new. I paid a fifth of that for my used one, which is in better shape than my current work laptop. This was spectacularly refurbished.

I wish it had worked. The threads are simply not deep enough.
This simply did not at all work. The threads are simply not deep enough to remove "real" bolts, in my case to remove an accidentally stripped 5/15 flat-head hex screw on my tractor. Three out of four came out fine without this tool, and I was hoping this would get the last one.
If the threads were deeper, it probably would have worked. I would have figured that an impact-rated tool would have been better.
Nice design otherwise.
I ended up drilling-out the head. Very disappointed.

Great chip to breathe life into older motherboard.
I bought this chip to replace a burnt-out Phenom I chip from my son's high-end gaming motherboard (the fan got jammed).
This chip does fly! I put this end, and the machine is running great.
There is a reason that people are still selling/looking for these chips; they just perform!
