DeX functionality does not work if using a case and USB extender.
You have to shimmy the phone a bit to get the DeX programming to engage. Issue is that it only works with phone out of case. Using a USB extender, DeX programming does not work. Then it just functions a hub station. Unless you have used them both, you really can't explain the difference in functionality.
If you're not a danger to your phone outside of a case, then this item is a great alternative to Samsung's overpriced DeX system.

Purchase for looks not protection
Purchase for aesthetics not protection as my phone still managed to shatter in the lower right corner with the case on.

OK but not great
The sound and distance is great. I just do not find them very comfortable to wear for an extended period of time as they do not wrap around your ear and head securely not fit into your ear snugly.
