Cheap Junk, Weak Mechanism
Yeah, it's a quick release all right. Just pull lightly on it and it comes off quick... no need to press the release button because the mechanism is so weak it doesn't latch in place. I would be concerned that if this was holding a mic clip with mic that it would come flying off if the stand was grabbed quick or tilted... something performers may do.

NOT So Lightweight But Works Well
I have to assume the cable I was sent is the Monoprice 9172 as it looks like the ad photo except for the thickness of the cable, which seems a larger diameter. That number is not indicated on the cable itself, only the codings E30699 28AWG 20276 V181. (Photo add shows a 30 AWG marked cable).
This cable is described as "thinner and lighter cables, which are easier to handle and route through your home theater system and which put less stress on your equipment's HDMI port".
This cable is pretty heavy duty and can put stress on the HDMI port despite the product description. 28 AWG is the internal conductors but the total cable with outer sheathing measures 5/16 thick and has some big honking 2” long connector ends. (The connectors contain chipsets). Keep this in mind and make sure you have clearance behind your display to insert the connector. You will also need a full 1” hole through your wall framing/flooring etc. if you plan to run it thru walls to accomodate the wide connector. It’s a directional active cable so make sure SOURCE and DISPLAY ends are correct. The plus side of the heavy duty cable is that it should hold up well.
This 50 foot cable does work well to provide a solid signal from my main floor living room system to my basement level family room TV, both direct out and using a powered HDMI splitter. Be aware you can not run these active cables to a standard HDMI wall plate and then connect another active cable (in series) to connect the TV. You can run them parallel i.e. separate cables from the same splitter each direct to two different displays. Only one active cable can be in any single run or they will confuse each other and fail.

Medium Duty Clamp, Light Duty Pivot Ball
I have purchased various small clamp devices online and been disappointed in their flimsy quality. This clamp itself, is decent quality and fairly robust for medium duty. I'm not using it on a handlebar The removable swivel ball w/ 1/4" thread is solid when oriented in the notch but I would not trust anything of weight with the ball locked in any other position. Works perfect for me clamping a receive antenna on a stationery rail or stand.
