A great read. Thoroughly enjoyed the book.
I had read the follow up book to this one (The First Boxer) and found it a good read with an interesting, new plot. As the story progressed I realised there was a book that had gone before it that covered a lot of the background, which piqued my interest in wanting to know more. This book has an interesting plot, a bit sci-fi which I like, and a few twists and turns that keep you always wanting to know what happens next. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was sad to reach the end. I recommend it.

Not only for kids, great for aged care.
This was recommended for my dad who suffers from dementia. It was a wonderful purchase for him as he treated it like an actual pet, it was lovely to see. Whoever discovered that these types of toys help in aged care is brilliant, it helps bring some sunshine at a dark time. Perfect.

Effective epilation at an affordable price.
This is my 5th epilator, I have had two Philips Satinelle's in the early years that kept going well until they died, then I had a Braun silk epil, which is still going but starting to fade so I decided it was time for a new one. I had a look at what is out there, amazed at the price of some of the options, wow!! Several hundred dollars for an epilator? No thank you! I ended up with a Remington, thinking it would be a trusted brand and with more tweezers than any of my first three I expected big things. What a let down, one side of the tweezer heads is plastic which I feel is the reason that it doesn't grab hairs anywhere near as well as I expect. After using it on a handful of occasions I decided that I want one that is at least as good as my first three, if not better. So, to research then!! Noticing that very few have the full metal tweezers that was to be my number one selection criterion. However, I am still not prepared to spend several hundred dollars on such a device as I don't think they warrant such costs. One that caught my eye was an Emjoi that has two opposable tweezer heads. It seemed like a very good idea as I was also in search of an eplilator that isn't grabby on my underarms. I am now in my 50's and skin doesn't stay elastic as we age, it is difficult to pull the underarm skin tight as you cannot make use of the hand not holding the epilator. I have ended up with an abrasion on occasion using the Braun mentioned above as it can grab the skin that is not pulled tight enough. I thought the opposable heads would pull the skin tighter. When I searched for the Emjoi epilator I always ended up with the BaByliss epilator on my screen, it has the same opposable twin tweezer heads (60!) but different features. While I have no interest whatsoever of epilating in the shower many of the models are wet and dry cordless models, as is the case here. I am a fan of corded models because eventually the cordless batteries will fail, rendering the epilator useless despite the condition of everything else. However, there was no option for corded with this epilator and I really wanted the opposable heads. Unfortunately it is even more grabby than the Braun under my arms, but doesn't break the skin like that one tends to. There is a cap that you can put on for delicate areas which I assume is designed to alleviate potential problems like mine. I have never bothered with them on any of my other epilators but thought I had better give it a go now. I did manage to get some hair plucked, but it was taking ages and I was very frustrated by the greatly reduced efficiency by adding the cap. I will not be using the BaByliss for my underarms, it is too much hassle. I'll flog the old Braun until death! However, for my legs? WOW!!! This is one brilliant epilator, it is so efficient and effective at getting the hairs with far less passes that I am used to, I love it. Somehow the pain over the very sensitive areas such as above the knee was considerably less too, what a bonus. My legs were hair free in less time than it usually takes and the skin was lovely and soft afterwards too. It seems as if the full-metal tweezer heads, plus having two rotating heads makes for a powerful, effective hair removing session. It is quite loud but I don't know why that would be a problem for anyone and the whole unit feels robust and good quality. I found this on sale at a very pleasing $79.95, which came with additional attachments such as a shaver head and trimming guides to clip on. I like this epilator very much and I am happy to recommend it. However, be wary on the underarm area... honestly though, I feel the problem is actually being older, with skin that is not as firm anymore. Epilate with care as you age ;)
