Excellent novel by Pramoedya Ananta Toer
Pramoedya Ananta Toer is one of my favorite authors. This is the 7th of his books that I've read, and, like all the others, was wonderful. If you read only one Indonesian writer, let it be Toer.

One of the great shows!
A wonderful cast recording of an amazing show. If you've never hear it or are not familiar with Kuert Weill's work this is a good way to enter his work.

excellent film with great cast
If you've never seen this film, it's worth checking out. The directing is spot-on. The subjects (immigration, the selling of body parts in London, friendship, etc.) are timely and the script is well written. And if you're a fan of Audrey Tautou this is the film that she made after AMELIE.
