climbing gear history lesson

This book provides an interesting snapshot of climbing gear development as of the late 70's and early 80's. Much of the information is dated and of little use to anyone besides a historian or collector.

Purple lights!

My Vintage Modern burns these things out all the time but it's a cool color to have shining on the head. Especially with the purple tolex. Installing the bulb is pretty straight forward but you do have to open the head up and dig around inside. It's best to have at least some idea of what you're doing so you don't mess it up.
