Excellent value from makita

Have always bought makita tools so wasnt sure about their MT range but I needed a new router anyway so gave it a shot. Got to say I'm impressed with the power and quality of the tool and it stacks up well with included edge guide, straight bit and 2 collets. It does lack soft start so a bit of a torque twist when you start it- just have it clear of the workpiece and it's fine. Also there is a little lateral free play after you line up to a marked line so you need to adjust the edge guide accordingly. I like that there is a fine screw adjustment on the edge guide and this makes pinpoint accuracy possible even after allowing for free play. I'd recommend it as a solid well built router at a real budget price. I believe the MT range uses makita engineering and materials in their tools, which may be the reason it doesn't feel like a budget item
