Amazing Bettie!
Perfect Indie album. If you love Belly. Throwing Muses and the Velvets, this is highly recommended.

For the David Bowie completist
A nicely packaged and compact box set of Bowie's last 5 albums. Each 2-disc album is in its own slim 'vinyl replica' sleeve. And this time thoughtfully added is paper inner sleeves for each disc to keep surface scratches to a minimum. Something the dual disc releases of Outside/Earthling/Hours was sadly missing. There is a booklet with each - very small and offering no or very little additional information to the original releases. The bonus discs as you'd expect are crammed with outtakes, b-sides and remixes. Some may be considered surplus to requirement if you own the singles already. And many will know that there is a lot more unreleased 'Outside' material that could have been included in preference to the numerous remixes of the same tracks (Little Wonder, Seven, and The Hearts Filthy Lesson for example). The extras, which will be of most interest, are the extended versions of 'Hallo Spaceboy' (Pet Shop Boys Remixes) and 'Rebel Never Gets Old' - these have been difficult to get hold of on CD in the past. The Heathen disc two has all the known recorded tracks from the aborted 'Toy' album making it the only one the listener may want to play from start to end. The main omission I noticed was the 'Outside' period version of 'The Man Who Sold The World'. An obvious choice to include in my reckoning. Bowie collectors will be accustomed to such annoyances by now. Hopefully. If nothing else this neat set will allow extra space on the CD shelf, having all but a very few of the relevant tracks in one slim box. This reviewer regrets this set could well be the studio Swansong from David. However, we are talking about the king of comebacks and reinvention.
