The indicator was in excellent condition and very well packed. A most professional transaction.

Sony PXW-Z150 4K XDCAM Professional Camcorder!! BRAND NEW!!
21 December 2017
Good camera from a miserable pick
Coming from a background in film where cameras were designed to be hand-held and a good clear viewfinder was paramount, and where the controls were limited to an on/off switch, focus, aperture and perhaps zoom, almost all Japanese video cameras… camcorders are a miserable experience.
On balance, I am reasonably happy with this camera but it does underline what has been lost in the move from mechanical to digital cameras and how the best digital cameras are neither mechanically, optically or functionally as good as the film cameras at the end of the mechanical era.
The image quality of the PXW-150 is good. The depth of field is a usable balance between everything being in focus or not. The colour straight out of the camera is good. Light years ahead of Black Magic cameras for example. In those respects, the camera is a good buy.
Being shaped like a video camera instead of an SLR, it is much easier and quicker to operate and the resulting pictures good quality and easy to deal with.
When used with Final Cut "Pro", Apple's increasingly amateur editing program, image transfer is quick and easy and simple edits and exports are easy. Again much easier than with a Black Magic camera.
Most of the criticisms and short falls apply to most cameras like this.
The low-light behaviour is surprisingly average compared with a modern SLR.
I doubt you could call any camera a "professional" camera if the rings on the lens were not properly attached to the other end. So you can't mark a focus point on a lens ring or a zoom range because the ring is not properly attached to the zoom or focus.
You can't really hand hold anything which doesn't rest on your shoulder so don't expect anything other than wobblycam shots from this camera.
The viewfinder(s) are not good enough for critical focus. More pixels in one or the other might help.
The menu system is a disaster but then Sony have never been up there for user interface.
The ability to connect to a phone or tablet is nice but tedious to set up and the functions available are very limited. It might be better to be able to navigate the tortuous menus via a phone or tablet but this is not an option.
