Mala
I don't believe this is real sandalwood, just cheap colored wood. I took beads off the elastic to make into better quality mala with knots and the lovely sandalwood smell disappeared. The smell was on the elastic cord which leads me to believe the sandalwood smell was added to the mala and this is not real sandalwood. Its just a bunch of small wooden beads, nothing else.

Not real sandalwood
Fake sandalwood smell added to mala. Mala is small and not really usable so I chopped it up and used the beads to make a better knotted mala. Since taking the beads off original elastic the smell of sandalwood has vanished. Picture is what I did to the beads to make new mala. Not really a good product, i would get rudraksha mala instead.
