I was able to easily install this into a KATO FEF-3.
I rated it not durable because shortly after installing it, the light function stopped working. The seller immediately replaced it and I couldn't be happier with his customer service.
I currently run a Bachmann EZ-Command DCC controller and this decoder immediately made an improvement in the FEF-3's ability to creep so I think the BEMF is working out of the box. The light is nice and bright. The decoder controls many other functions and I'm not sure that I can take full advantage of them using my present controller. I'm looking at replacing it with a NCE Power-Cab.
Go to TCSDCC.COM for a full list of capabilities and the install manual. I think most people in the hobby could easily install it. Just get your self a mini screwdriver set.

The motor gets hot quickly and it's messy to empty
The motor gets so hot after only a minute or two, you can't keep your hand on it. It has done that since day one. The filter is a spring loaded cloth thing that snaps open when you remove it, releasing dust everywhere. I am looking for another vacuum for the garage, because this one is junk.

Nice quiet fan
I installed this into a Commodore 128D and it was a perfect fit. The 128D does not need much air movement to stay cool, so this was the ideal fan. It comes with screws and rubber isolation mounts. I had to drill out the holes in the Commodore power supply to get the rubber isolation mounts to fit, but I thought it was worth the extra effort. I connected the fan wires to the yellow (12V) and black (ground) connections on the power supply (I had to observe polarity or the fan would not turn at all).
The fan runs so quietly, I can barely hear it with the case open and my ear about a foot away. I've ordered another one for my other 128D.
