Fantastic bargain!
I've been playing and collecting Magic: the Gathering for nearly 14 years, and I have almost 30,000 cards sleeved in these black UltraPro Deck Protector sleeves. In all that time, I've had less than 10 split.
Those who report problems with these splitting likely experience issues because of how they shuffle. I've always shuffled my cards from the bottom corners or sides. My wife, who also uses UltraPro Deck Protectors (in purple) shuffles like a traditional deck of cards--end on end--and she has lots of problems with split sleeves. One sleeved card gets caught in another while she shuffles. Change the way you shuffle and these should last a long time.
By putting my collection in the same type of sleeve, I eliminate the need to resleeve my cards when I build decks, thereby reducing wear and tear on the cards, as well as saving time.
