It was $2, what did I expect?
1 of 1 found this helpful It works if you want a permanent hood or want to spend some time with some sandpaper to make it fit properly. Overall, the material seems alright, a little more rigid than the genuine article. The inside is smooth, not textured or flocked, either of which would be preferable, but again, it's $2. The main issue is that the tolerances are too small and it gets stuck on the lens. I had to put enough force to pull it off that I risked damaging my lens. I returned it and bought a genuine one to be on the safe side.

Pop socket is pointless
If I put effort into it the pop socket will hold my phone if it’s popped at a certain angle on a perfectly flat surface, but most of the time it just pops back in and the phone lies flat. The iPhone 7+ may just be too big for it to work properly. The case is sturdy, but the pop socket sticks out just far enough for it not to fit in my phone mount on my video rig.

Horrible QC
I wish I could include a photo. It came completely missing a resistor, meaning the encoder portion didn't function at all. On top of that, the board is fried. Chances are the resistor blew when tested or it was a customer return. I guess you get what you pay for, but c'mon.
