Pentax K-5 IIs - my favorite!
4 of 4 found this helpful Why to buy: If you don't want to pay for the brand name, pay for the history :) Pentax = former Asahi Optical Corporation, with great history of excellent products - from cameras to microscopes.
And in the same features set range, comparing to Nikon, Canon and others, Pentax have much much better price, IMHO.
Only one thing - it's relatively heavy, but that is a cost for well protected from dust and water body.
One caveat - never use "green" mode. This is a great camera with excellent set of options to make your shots perfect, but as always, "auto" settings are worsest thing.
If you want to use professional camera, spent some time to learn how to use it. Owerwise you don't need it, better buy some cheap "fully automatic" crap.
As always, "right tools for the right hands" (and mind).

Good purchase!
Working perfectly under Linux, except that when passed through to XEN VM, shows identical MAC addresses on both ports (may be solved by splitting these to different VLANs. IMHO it's kind a firmware bug.
