1 of 1 found this helpful I originally bought this router to go with an existing Telstra gateway as the gateway was simply incapable of running multiple devices, especially when it came to running the two Xbox Ones in the house, the UPNP on the gateway was just terribly implemented.
Since buying the R8000 to act as the head of my network with the gateway in bridge mode I have been very impressed with the results, my speed when playing videos from a hard drive to my tv over the network have almost doubled allowing for flawless playback across the network even while running numerous other devices on the network.
Most importantly of all I now have 2 Xbox Ones able to run at the same time with no issues as well as running several Pcs a PS4 and up to 5 phones all at once playing online games downloading or streaming from Netflix in HD all with no lag WHATSOEVER!!!!
this modem was easily the best investment I have ever made for my home network, it is not the most affordable out there but if you can justify the amount you spend it is very well worth it!!!
