Chris Colfer’s brilliant writing and performance will have you hooked from beginning to end
Where do I start? It should not be labeled under comedy. This movie will make you laugh, it’ll make you cheer, yell, cry and so much more. Carson Phillips is a very relatable person to a variety of different people, whether you’re the odd one out at school, unappreciated by his mother at home, dead beat of a father who abandoned the family. You watch the boy’s life, you feel his goals become yours and you plead for him to finally catch a break and make it into the school of his dreams. Glee star Chris Colfer’s writing and performance is brilliant and hear wrenching. So glad he himself took on the hurdle of portraying this character and bringing Carson to life in an honorable way to the book. My only issue was the ending they chose for the film, where as the deleted scenes brought the story to a climax in a much better way that really got the tears flowing. Highly recommend this film, but if you’re not into tragic slice of like dark tales, you shouldn’t watch it.
