Rich fuel problem solved!
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought a used scag zero turn lawnmower that has a 25 HP Kawasaki engine. It came with a aftermarket air filter. The engine always ran a bit rich on fuel and there was no way to adjust it because everything in the carburetor is fixed jet. After some research I learned I had an older style carburetor that is "externally vented".. This is the filter recommended by Kawasaki for the externally vented carburetor. This completely cured all my engine power and running problems. Even the local lawn mower shops were not aware of this issue. This filter produces less vacuum on the externally vented carb thus curing the rich fuel problem. Side note: If you own an internally vented carb engine, then the file model number will end in "7027".
