QFX VP-109 Home DVD/CD/MP3/USB Player +All Region-Free Multi-Zone (NTSC/PAL)
14 February 2017
Cheap and clunky. If you need a region-free, go with the VP-113
The image quality on this player is okay, but there are no component or HDMI connections. Not even an S-Video. The image quality can never get above 480i without them. This isn't even the biggest problem. The design quality looks great unless you touch it. A quick tap and you will notice that the metal is thin and cheap. I'm afraid that if I were to put a coaster on it that it would fold like an accordion. I had one other issue that probably won't be a big deal to most people, but it bugs me to no end. That is the bright blue light on the disc tray. It is so bright that I had to cover it with permanent marker just to make it tolerable. All in all, it is only reasonable to buy this if you have an old tube tv that you want to use to watch import DVDs. If you do happen to have a tv with HDMI, then you should go for the QFX VP-113. The build quality and annoying light are still there, but you will get a maximized image quality. Please do not buy this model if you can avoid it.

Street Sharks: The Complete Series (DVD, 2013, 4-Disc Set) - NEW!!
14 February 2017
Great show, but I'd rather have the VHS tapes.
So, if you remember the tv show from the early 90's, then you have to own this show. Maybe you have children or nieces/nephews that you want to have the same experience that you did. If so, you should probably fire up the VCR in your garage and pop in that old tape. Why? For a few reasons... 1. The quality is VHS quality blurred by digitization. This happens when you have cheap remastering tools. 2. The integrity of the DVDs themselves is a bit suspicious. It's almost as if they are nothing more than bootleg copies. This hasn't affected me yet, but I can see a serious problem in the future. 3. The episodes are OUT OF ORDER. No, I'm not kidding. I was watching these with my nephew, only half paying attention, and I noticed that there were some serious plot jumps. Going back through, and some brief research online, I discover that I was right. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. I can't believe no one is talking about this online, but I guess that Street Sharks just isn't popular enough for people to care. In conclusion, I'd like to point out that this is the easiest way to watch the series. If you are buying it for a 3-year-old, they won't care. As an adult, if you want to appreciate Street Sharks the way you did in 1994, then you should look to the VHS tapes.
