Excellent 6 Conductor Replacement Ribbon Cable for the Lionel Gantry Crane

Replace the old, crumbling 6-conductor flat cable between the Lionel gantry crane and controller. The new cable insulation is flexible, easy to split & peel, and solders well. The gantry crane in the photos works great now! Tips for the install: (1) Lubricate the crane mechanism while you have the unit on the workbench. (2) The other wires on the gantry may be old but since they don't move, they should be OK as-is but check to make sure connections are good and no bare wire is touching anything. (3) Replace connections one-at-at-time or you will be in for a long repair session!! I have a Greenberg volume with a schematic for the control unit and still almost messed up! (4) While you have your soldering iron out, consider cutting a six-pin plug and jack into the cable so you can place the crane on your layout and be able to run the cable through small holes in your layout benchwork. In summary, this wire is a great item and I recommend it highly.

Accucraft 1:20.3 D&RGW High Side Gondola

Nobody does 1:20.3 like Accucraft! The gons have gobs of detail and with a little oil the OEM wheels "glide" on the rails. This one was customized with a body filler and real coal crystals adhered to the top. The car does have some delicate parts and fine scale flanges ... if you want a car for the kids to fill with sand and building blocks, go with an LGB or Bachmann gon, NOT this one! I am very pleased with the car and have gathered a train full of them over the months. I think the relatively high cost is justified!

Kenda 12.5 x 2.25 Street Tread Bicycle Tires

Used these on BERG Buddy/Jeep Jr. pedal cars. Original "knobby" tires wore excessively due to bad alignment of kart wheels and soft tire compound. Replaced knobbies with these Kenda tires since karts were used mostly on pavement or sidewalks. Tires are working very well! They show almost no wear after our first outings - much better than the off-road treads did.
