A lot of the inexpensive test leads have one of many critical flaws. Many use steel wire in the lead, making resistance measurements unreliable and reducing their current capacity. Others use stiff vinyl insulation, making the leads difficult to use, especially in cold weather. I was surprised to find that these leads are both flexible and low-resistance. The tips are sharp and the banana plugs are strong & tight. They might not be the best in the world, but I've paid 10x as much for worse leads. Can't complain about that.

Seems okay
Although I know a lot of similar wire products on ebay (test leads, jumpers, etc) often have steel wire in them, the order I placed for this product does not appear to be steel. It is nonmagnetic and its resistance is too low to be steel. It appears to be a tinned copper. The jacket does appear to be silicone, and it is supple, with little memory when cold. I haven't tested it for its performance at elevated temperatures, but soldering temperatures seem to have much less effect than it would a PVC material.
I'm sure the variability of sourcing means that there's still a chance that subsequent orders would result in the delivery of a different product. Grain of salt and all that.

it's a bulb thing
I bought this on a whim to see if i could use it to replace the bulb on my trashy desoldering iron. It turns out that it's actually kind of convenient as a duster. Who would've thought?
