Corvet te dream car on eBay
1 of 1 found this helpful Around 1968 I started 'playing' with Chevys with my buddy and his uncle and soon came to realize that the ultimate Chevy would end up being a Corvette. Well, life and work and raising babies got in the way of that dream until I spotted a 1995 Corvette convertible on eBay in Florida. The car was someone's baby, the price was right, and since I'm in Michigan getting it home would be a fun adventure so I put in a bid.
The nervousness kicked in when I realized I'd just spent a butt-load of money across the internet on a car I'd never seen! The many photos the seller supplied along with his cell phone number, the Carfax service, and the seller's perfect eBay rating calmed my fears and I followed through with my promise.
EVERYTHING was as described. The paint gleamed. The engine purred. The Bose radio blasted. I went out of my way to bring her home through the Blue Ridge Parkway, and some side roads in NC, VA, and WV. a total of 1580 for the trip. From Ft Lauderdale to home I listened to classic rock CDs, screamed through corners, hammered all 6 gears, and all the while getting 26.23 miles per gallon. A couple times while gassing up guys would strike up conversations about the car. One said, "You actually bought it on eBay and now you're driving across America! Cool!!"
There are a few downsides to this tale. One is out-waiting the Michigan winter hoping for dry pavement so I guess I'll use the time to polish and personalize the car a little. Also 5 or 6 of my buddies 'hate' me because they're still driving SUVs and minivans. And one of our secretaries told me, "I'd look good in that car"!
Hey! Wait a minute! Those aren't 'downsides'!!! ;)

I won the battle
It took me a bit of wrestling but I managed to outlast the gremlins in my computer and install this software. This is mainly because of my poor computer skills not the product. Anyway, it works just like my ole Corel from back in the day. I've retrieved some files I thought to be permanently banished to flash drives saved long ago. It was nice to see how many of my ideas actually came to fruition. I'm pleased, very pleased !!
