Not the Carmen San Diego I Remember...
1 of 1 found this helpful I decided to buy the game because I randomly discovered that such a game existed -- the only Carmen San Diego game for a console, and the first and last one to be published in like 8 years.
Well this game sucks. You run around hitting robots with your smashing stick and that's about it. You collect "clues" which literally consists of grabbing these compasses that represent clues, and once you have 5 of these "clues" you suddenly know carmen's new whereabouts. each new level throws lots of uninteresting, basic-knowledge data about the new location at you before the level starts, sort of like a lame intro, and then the gameplay itself is devoid of any new information, real puzzles, or pretty much anything that made the carmen san diego games fun.
as i said, you don't get real clues, and thus have nothing to analyze. the plot is pretty much you as a rookie ACME agent chasing carmen just because you can (but by golly, you'll never catch her, no one ever does!)
i can only see this game being enjoyed by a 7 year old, or perhaps some random chap time warped in from the 19th century who'd be interested in the technology of the tv, not so much the content of the pathetic game. OVERALL the game requires no brainwork, and the gameplay is so primitive and boring that i'm sure the game was coded by some kids fresh out of college who needed to make $20 bucks to buy some pizza. you'd be better off doing most anything than playing this game. this sad game should not be tied to the wonderful carmen san diego franchise, as it only detracts from it.

Good, fun, oldschool game.
All in all a good multi-player game. Silly, cartoony, and fun.
I can't believe it's gotten to the point I'm referring to Gamecube games as oldschool, but this game is old enough at this point. The main reason I purchased this game is that as a Nintendo enthusiast since the days of the NES, there have not been many co-op games for the systems I owned - certainly not as many as you see for the playstation and xbox franchises.
This is not really the kind of game you want to play on your own. Storymode is fun enough but not that hard so it needs to co-op so you can have fun shooting each other and fighting over who leads the way. Single person challenges are fun but MOSTLY because you lock crazy playable characters to have fun with in multi-player. As I said I got it because it has 4-person multi-player battles AND 2-person storymode co-op, which makes it really fun to play in college (or anywhere else I'd assume) with a few other people who want to have fun shooting the smithereens out of bad guys. Single player challenges let you unlock lots of wacky playable characters (at least a good 100-150 different ones) which can make things just plain wonderful mayhem.
