Great value; recent software updates are key
3 of 3 found this helpful I have owned and enjoyed a Kindle Touch for a few years (got it used for $25 on Craigslist). Wanted an ereader with backlighting, and liked the idea of getting a waterproof model and having access to epub books, but didn't want to pay over $100 given my usage patterns. Read equivocal reviews about the Nook Glowlight Plus but this deal ($59.99 new) was too good to pass up. It turns out the recent software upgrades (4.6 and 4.7) make a huge difference. Device is responsive and the interface is pleasing (I really like the fonts and spacing). It also now allows for Overdrive library borrowing via one's laptop, which is already transforming my reading habits. I've even sideloaded pdfs, which are easily readable if they are formatted as single pages. All in all, an unbeatable deal for an underrated device.
