Does what it says on the box
2 of 2 found this helpful The Hoover motor is described as a direct replacement but it is much taller than the original Vax motor. The plastic air guide was omitted to accommodate the extra height and the original seals refitted to clamp the motor.
As mentioned in a video, the leads for the Hoover motor have female terminals and the leads in the machine were changed to spade terminals to suit.
The Hoover motor appears to be more powerful than the original and the performance of the machine is fully restored.
Also noted that the cooling fan on the Hoover motor is fully protected.

A powerful high torque motor gearbox
As advertised this is a powerful high torque motor gearbox. The output shaft runs in ball bearings and gearbox appears to be well made with steel gears throughout. The unit does not fail under stall conditions
