Great first DSLR camera that can use old Minolta lenses
I have been using a Nikon Coolpix 5700, which is a great camera, for some time and I was amazed at the difference with the Sony A200. The Sony is much faster and easier to use producing perfect pictures almost every time. The only disadvantages of the Sony A200 are that it is much heavier than the little Nikon and it cannot focus as close as the Nikon. I guess this is a limitation of all DSLR cameras compared to compacts. I have started using my old Minolta Rokkor macro lenses with an adaptor on the Sony A200 and find that they are excellent for macro photography. It is slow to use but macro work is always slow.
