About
I don't get in line behind you at the super market and ask why you why you buy oranges. I pay on time, I'm a fair and inquisitive buyer.

It's meant for older systems, but it was the cutting edge of its time
This memory is PC800-40 ECC, which means it uses the RIMM standard, it's error correcting, and it is the lower latency flavor of this family of memory. You can easily find PC800 in ECC or non-ECC, 45 or 40ns latency. Beware though, this memory type was last used around 2000, so if you're looking to buy some, make sure it's right for you.

Great ATA/133 bootable 32-bit pci adapter
ATA/133 is several generations outdated by now, and while it may still be found on modern systems, it's generally provided for backwards compatibility with legacy drives. However, in its time (likely prior to 2002) this was the de facto standard for PCs as well as the final version of IDE before SATA took over in 2003. This particular add-in board works great in linux, and it's meant for windows XP.
