Gate King for Second Gen Tacoma
I replaced the cables on my Tacoma with the Gate King because I reinforced my tailgate with a 24 pound steel plate for loading motorcycles. The Gate King adjusters are far superior to the stock cables and easily support the weight of the tailgate, plus load. I did need to file the end of one of the retainer clips as it rubbed onr arm of the Gate King. I was aware that this might be an issue (very minor) due to reading about the Gate King on the Tacomaworld forum before I made the purchase - I am completely satisfied with the Gate King and I recommend reading the user reviews and watching the installation videos on YouTube as they are very helpful.
